ABOUT US

The Joongang Student Reporters (JSR)program is a highly-selective program for high school students who are interested in journalism. Participants have the opportunity to see their work published in The Korea Daily, the Korean-language newspaper with the highest circulation in the United States.

Student reporters are selected based on their applications, including their personal statements, sample articles, and recommendations. If you are interested in applying to be a Student Reporter, please view our Information Packet.

Student reporters cover events that are local, regional, national, and international in scope. They strive to create content to which their peers can relate. Student reporters are divided into groups led by senior student editors who help them manage and revise their work.

Student reporters are selected from high schools across the United States. While many are located in the Los Angeles area, students have reported from as far away as Canada, Michigan, the District of Columbia, and South Korea.
